Dan Neville

The Dan Neville Big Band is a boundary-pushing ensemble rooted in jazz tradition while fearlessly exploring new sonic territory. Led by award-winning vibraphonist, marimbist, composer, and arranger Dan Neville, the band features some of the finest improvisers and section players from the New York and North Jersey jazz scenes.

At the heart of the group’s sound is Neville’s visionary writing, which integrates modal harmony, 20th-century European influences, Afro-Colombian rhythmic traditions, and layered textures inspired by Guinean balafon music. The result is a vibrant fusion of colors and forms, with both the vibraphone and marimba elevated from background instruments to leading voices within the orchestra.
